stolen...

...from Kate. Because if I were to respond to her last post, it would be full of warm fuzziness for her and her family, who just might be the best thing I've stumbled across this year, and am eternally grateful to whatever force propelled Kate into coming to our little knitting shindig in Dover. Seriously. Wherever, whatever, whomever you are..THANK YOU.

28 years ago I…

…was six months old. (roughly) and experiencing my first new england winter. Dad still worked for Uncle Marty, mom still worked at the Greenery, and our snug little house on the island was home.

20 years ago I…

...was in 4th grade, and loathing much of it. Pretty perpetually picked on, given static for going to the higher level reading group..blah blah.

10 years ago I…

...was finishing my first semester of college at the University of Arizona. I had a few good friends formed from anthropology class, was considering converting to Judaism, and in general having a pretty good time 3000 miles and 3 time zones from home.

5 years ago I…

...was finishing my first semester of post undergrad work in public history. I was managing the hockey team and traveling with them at this point, seeing great hockey games, meeting fabulous people, and in general pushing myself to every limit i know, including stress and sleep deprivation. And I'd do it again in a New York minute.

2 years ago I…

...was full time at the bookstore, had been living with Dan for a little over a year and a half. I was settling into life on the Seacoast, but still missed the valley terribly, and didn't have so much in the way of non-work friends.

1 year ago I…

...was coming out the other side of my first retail holiday as a manager. And I survived! About this time I accepted the position full time (as opposed to filling in for someone). Dan was talking about going for his Ph.D after finding out that he'd passed his comps with flying colors (and he'd assumed he'd failed, so he never bothered to find out!)

1 month ago I…

...held my breath and braced myself for another retail holiday. I made my holiday knitting list of things i needed to start and or get completed in time.

1 week ago I…

...finished the last of the holiday baking, and officially gave up on the fingerless gloves for dad. I cajoled the boy into trying to decide when he was going to head down to see his folks (prior to my arrival, or at the same time?).

1 day ago I…

...was reveling in the wonder that is the Webs year end clearance sale with Dan's mom (hooray for christmas shopping!). I emerged with enough yarn for a sweater for me (yes!), a scarf and socks also for me, and a scarf each for mom and molly.

1 hour ago I …

...fussed around on Ravelry, entered my new yarn, and watched the end of the TD Banknorth UVM hockey tourney.

And right now?

...am watching Deal or No Deal and nursing a bit of a cold. Time for tea and a spot on the couch, methinks.

Aren't you sweet? No surprise there, but still. :)

Nice new color scheme!

So freaking tired. Mary made me stay up until 2:00a to take pictures of her completed glove, then I had to have her in Concord by 10. Snore.
